Privacy policy

What Convertolo does — and doesn't do — with your files and data.

The short version

  • Your files are converted inside your browser and are never uploaded to us.
  • Convertolo sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers.
  • A few settings are stored in your own browser; you can delete them at any time.
  • When you use a Pro license key, only that key is sent to our payment provider, Gumroad, to check it.

Your files

Conversions run on your device using standard browser technology (Canvas, Web Workers and WebAssembly). The files you add, their names and their contents are not sent to Convertolo or anyone else, and we cannot see them.

Converted results stay in your browser's memory until you remove them or close the page.

Data stored in your browser

Convertolo keeps the following in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device unless stated below:

  • your language and theme choice;
  • if you activate Pro: the license key, the Gumroad product it belongs to, its status and when it was last checked;
  • on the Free plan: the times of your successful conversions in the last 24 hours (to apply the daily limit).

Network requests

  • Loading the website, including the PDF engine's helper files, from our hosting provider. Like any web server, the host processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and protect the service.
  • Checking a license with Gumroad (api.gumroad.com): only when you enter a key, and about once a day while a license is stored. Sent: the license key, the product ID and whether this is a new activation. Gumroad's privacy policy applies to that request.

Purchases

Pro is sold through Gumroad, which processes the payment and taxes. Gumroad shares the details of your purchase with us (such as your e-mail address, country and amount) so we can provide support and keep records required by law. We do not receive your card details.

E-mails

If you write to us, we use your message and address only to answer you and keep the conversation for support.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU or KVKK in Turkey), you can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Write to sabahattinsudan1@gmail.com. Data in your browser can be deleted by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
